Purchased these to hike in the mountains and travel in potentially wet conditions. The exceeded my expectations. The elastic waistband is tight and you may want to put them on over your regular pants if it starts to rain, so I suggest ordering one size larger than normal. They are lightweight and very easy to fold into a backpack. We got caught in moderate rain on several occasions and these were perfect. I put them on over my regular pants and stayed totally dry. They also insulate against the wind. They have zippers at the leg bottoms which allows them to open wide enough to get them over a hiking boot without taking your boot off. There is also Velcro at the leg bottom which allows for a tighter fit once they are zipped. The front zippered pockets are a huge plus and did not get wet inside. The pants are easy to clean and dry very quickly. I tried about 5 different types of pants before settling on these. They are the best combination of price, durability, weight, and features that I found. Would not hesitate to purchase again.
